Travel Reimbursement
Air fare
Out-of-town panelists may obtain an air ticket in either of two ways:
(1) Buy a ticket yourself, and get reimbursed after the conference. UCLA will only reimburse economy-class tickets, or the equivalent. To get reimbursed, submit to us, after the conference, the original ticket (or a printout of the confirmation / e-ticket), invoice, boarding passes, proof of payment (credit card statement, if you pay by credit card), and (if you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident) copies of the I-94 in your passport as well as other pages in your passport (visa, photo, passport number & expiration date). You will also have to fill out various UCLA forms.
After all the paperwork is prepared and submitted, it usually takes about three weeks to receive a reimbursement check.
(2) Order a ticket from the UCLA Travel Center. We will pay the Travel Center directly.
To order a ticket, contract the Travel Center, tell them the dates you wish to travel, and tell them that the ticket will be paid for by the Center for Chinese Studies via the "Direct Billing System."

ARRANGE YOUR AIR TICKET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Local Transportation
If you are flying into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), please take a taxi to the Tiverton House Hotel (see above). The fare is about $50. Get a receipt and submit it to us after the conference for reimbursement.
If you are already in Southern California and will be driving to UCLA, we will reimburse your mileage at the standard University of California rate.
