Zvi Ben-Dor

Assistant Professor of History at New York University. Professor Ben-Dor is a specialist in Islam in China. His recent book, The Dao of Muhammad: A Cultural History of Muslims in Late Imperial China (Harvard University Asia Center, 2005), is based upon his dissertation on Islam in late imperial China. Among Professor Ben-Dor's research and teaching interests are global history, Chinese history, the Islamic world, religious minorities in world history, exile, the Diaspora and historiography, comparative human rights, and Chinese Muslim history. Ben-Dor was a Fulbright Fellow in 1995-96.
