Postdoctoral Fellowship in China’s Political Economy-Indiana University

The newly established Research Center for Chinese Politics & Business (RCCPB) at Indiana University seeks applications for a 2007-08 academic year postdoctoral fellowship.

Interested applicants should have a research agenda closely related to the Center’s mission of furthering understanding of the relationships between China’s political system, its economic policies, and business behavior there, in the context of the country’s integration with global conditions, actors, and institutions.

To be eligible, applicants must have a Ph.D. awarded between June 2005 and July 2007 in political science, sociology, economics, business, or law; and engage in research which involves field work in China and the use of Chinese-language sources. The Fellow will be expected to be in residence at IU-Bloomington during the academic year and participate in RCCPB activities while pursuing their own research and writing projects.

The award carries a stipend of $35,000 plus benefits, an office, and access to IU’s library and other resources. To apply, applicants should provide a CV, a graduate school transcript, a dissertation abstract, a writing sample, a letter of interest that explains how the fellowship would aid their research agenda, and (sent separately) two letters of recommendation.
