Fulbright Scholar Program: Research Opportunities for China Specialists

Opportunties for U.S. scholars, 2008-09

China - Support for projects on either modern or pre-modern China. A portion of the grant period may be spent in Hong Kong or Taiwan. Grants are for 3-10 months, starting September 2008 or later.

Hong Kong - Support for research on Hong Kong or on relations between Hong Kong and southern China. Grants are for 4-67 months, starting September 2008 or later.

Macau - New award. Support for projects on Macau's history and development, Macau's relations with mainland China or Macau's role in East-West relations. Grants are for 4-6 months, starting September 2008 or later. The host institution is the Historical Archives of Macau.

Mongolia - Projects involving collaboration with local scholars or organizations is desirable. Give guest lectures and seminars to university as well as general audiences in area of expertise and on research project. Grants are for 4-6 months starting in September 2008.

Taiwan - Support for projects on contemporary Taiwan or in classical or contemporary Chinese studies. Grantees may spend a portion of their grants in the People's Republic of China. Grants are for 2-10 months, starting July 2008.

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • U.S. citizenship
  • At least three years experience beyond the Ph.D.
