As part of its on-going series of art history classes in the series The Circle of Bliss: Buddhist Meditational Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) offers a one-day class in "Devotational Meditation and the Buddhist Arts of China and Korea."
This class explores LACMA's Chinese and Korean sculptures and paintings of the Pure Land (or Western Paradise, where many Buddhists pray to be reborn), which are placed on temple altars. A meditation session, following the class, will take place in the exhibition Drawing on Faith: Ink Paintings for Korean Buddhist Icons.
