Local artist Zhou Pingguang demonstrates the gongbi painting technique at the Pacific Asia Museum

Zhou Pingguang, featured artist in A Modern Pursuit of Ancient Feelings (on display at the Pacific Asia Museum from May 7 through July 4, 2004), will demonstrate his skill in the "gongbi" technique of painting images of birds and flowers. A professor at the Sichuan Art Institute, Zhou Pingguang immigrated to the United States in 1998. His work incorporates elements of traditional Chinese paintings and modern sensibilities.
