Roderick Whitfield (BA, Cantab; MA and PhD, Princeton) is Professor Emeritus
at the School of Oriental and African Studies. Among his research interests are
Chinese art & archaeology; Buddhist art from Dunhuang; Chinese pictorial art and calligraphy and East Asian narrative painting; and Chinese painting theory.
