The lecture, “The Great Beauty of Chinese Porcelains: The Ding and Jun Kilns of the Song Dynasty,” is being held in conjunction with the closing of the Bowers’ world-acclaimed exhibit, Symbols of Power: Masterpieces from the Nanjing Museum, which ends May 4.

The event is free with museum admission. Bowers Museum currently has a 2 for 1 promotion that runs through the closing of Symbols of Powers.

“It is an honor to have Dr. Wang Qingzheng speak at the Bowers Museum,” Director Peter Keller says. “He is a long-time friend of the Bowers and a world renowned scholar. This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to see and listen to a scholar with a wealth of knowledge on Chinese art and culture.”

The Bowers Museum is presenting the event with the Asia Society and the Cultural Office of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles.
