This Sunday, May 4, at the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art in Santa Ana, the curtain closes on Symbols of Power, an acclaimed exhibit of masterpieces from the Nanjing Museum.
The closing celebration will include an appearance by the erhu musician Karen Han, whose work was featured in the film The Last Emperor.
On view are about 260 objects dating from the Neolithic Age through the Qing dynasty (1644-1911) and to World War II. Objects include bronze, currency, procelain, religious objects, paintings and calligraphy, formal and informal attire, and accessories and jewelry.
