The Asia Foundation Give2Asia Program, California Community Foundation, and SCAP will host a luncheon discussion of the role of nonprofits in China today.

Chinese society is driven by a dynamic, complex mix of market and social reforms that are creating wealth and social change at an unprecedented rate. How are China's nonprofits responding to these new challenges? What role does government play in regulating and promoting nonprofits in China? What practical issues should international donors and grantmakers be aware of when funding in China? Ms. Zhang Ye, the Asia Foundation's China country director since 1994, has published numerous articles on this subject and will be the featured speaker.
