TUSA 2011 program flier >>

The Taiwan-United States Sister Relations Alliance announces that the TUSA 2011 Ambassador Summer Scholarship Program is being offered to college and university students interested in studying the Mandarin Chinese language in Taiwan during the months of July and August 2011.

The Ambassador Summer Scholarship Program is a full scholarship program funded by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. The 2011 Program will be conducted at The National Pingtung University of Education. The scholarship covers tuition, dormitory fees, four excursions and incidental insurance. Meals are not included. Students must provide their own airfare to and from Taiwan.

We are requesting that you advise your students of this unique opportunity which provides a quality Mandarin Chinese immersion program with emphasis on speaking and simultaneous focus on all other areas of the language—listening, reading and writing. Enclosed you will find a flier for posting.

In addition to studying at a fabulous university, students learn about Taiwanese culture. Visiting several interesting areas of Taiwan to become more familiar with Taiwan and her people is also included in the TUSA Program. Prior knowledge or experience with the Mandarin language is not required. Each U.S. student is paired with a Taiwanese study partner to assist in the study program.

Application period is 1 January 2011 to 31 March 2011. Completed applications received prior to 15 February 2011 will be reviewed for early acceptance and reported to the applicant within seven days of that date. All remaining applications, including those not awarded early admission, will be reviewed and reported by 7 April 2011. Please ask your students to apply online at: www.taiwanusalliance.com.

Many thanks for your help.

Sincerely,

Thomas A. Bruce
