Boko Haram kidnappings must not go unanswered

May 6, 2014 — The UCLA African Studies Center (ASC) supports the efforts to secure the release and safety of the 276 Nigerian schoolgirls abducted from a government school in Chibuk on April 14 by the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram, together with the 8 girls kidnapped by the group yesterday in Borno state.

The ASC urges international media, social media and international activists to keep these kidnappings in the headlines until these young girls are returned safely to their homes.
