The Aquarium of the Pacific presents its Second Annual Autumn Festival, celebrating the arts, food, culture and marine environments of Japan, China, Korea and Cambodia.

The festival emcee will be infamous actor Rodney Kageyama, and equally entertaining will be Art Nakane and his one-man-band, as well as the twice-a-day cultural dive presentations with Jane Nguyen & Debbie Sam.
 
Saturday, 11/8

  • Northern Shaolim Kung Fu Association - with their Chinese Lion Dance, Dragon Dance, Kung Fu demonstration & weaponry demonstration; Hikari Taiko; Fung Shui with Angi Ma Wong; Spirit of Khmer Angkor - Cambodian Dance group; Southern CA Korean Dancing School; Acrobatic Balancing Acts & Magic by Sha Sha Lui & Pedro Chan; Phyllis Chang's Contemporary Pop/Jazz Performance; Bandho Mitsuhiro Kai-Japanese Dancing; and the Samulnori Korean Percussion Ensemble.

Sunday, 11/9

  • Cambodian Khmer Arts Academy Dancers; Ikazuchi Dojo Aikido Demonstration; Long Beach Ondo - Japanese Dancing; Fung Shui Demonstration by Angi Ma Wong; Orange County Buddhist Church Daion Taiko; Immortals Lion Dance, Orange County Chinese Cultural Club dance group; Koshin Taiko and the Fujima Seiyumi Kai-Japanese dancers.
  • Veterans of Foreign Wars Presentation:  Special VFW Nisei Post Award Presentation on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. honoring the Nisei Memorial Posts of Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, Gardena, East Los Angeles and Orange County.
  • Cultural storytelling will be held at the Marine Life Theater in the morning and afternoon with storytellers - Actor Rodney Kageyama, Joyce Ducharme and Pinky Paws!  Books are being provided by Heritage Source and will be given away to some of the lucky kids

The Kids Craft area offers attendees the opportunity to make the famous fish kites, lanterns and origami sea creatures.  In addition to the fabulous foods at the Aquarium - you'll also be able to purchase Cherrystones of Gardena's honey pineapple chicken and kaulua pork in the Aquarium cafeteria.
