Join us on Sunday, August 14, 2005, at Alitash Kebede Art Gallery, for inaugural reception for American Friends of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies-West Coast Chapter (AFIES-West). The event will introduce AFIES-West and the challenges faced by the Institute of Ethiopian Studies (IES) in safeguarding Ethiopia's historical and cultural heritage. AFIES-West is working to strengthen the relationship between IES and Ethiopians, as well as friends of Ethiopia, residing in the U.S.

The Alitash Kebede Gallery
The Alitash Kebede Gallery is located in the ART 170 Building at 170 S. La Brea in Los Angeles, CA. The gallery presents changing exhibitions by modern and contemporary international artists and offers a selection of 20th Century master-works for sale. The gallery specializes in the work of African and African American artists. Alitash Kebede began working as a private art dealer in 1984, and in 2004 celebrated the 20th anniversary of her business, The Alitash Kebede Gallery.
On-street parking available and free in the gallery parking lot.
