Seed Grants for Research on Africa Recipients

The African Studies Center was pleased to announce funding opportunities through the EDI Seed Grants for Research on Africa, designed to support and retain traditionally underrepresented junior faculty at UCLA. These grants fostered meaningful junior–senior faculty partnerships, providing mentorship and up to $5,000 in seed funding for Africa-focused pilot projects that could be developed into competitive external proposals. Eligible projects included original research, collaborative working groups, or initiatives that strengthened integration into UCLA’s Africanist research community. A total of five awards were granted during this cycle.
