Sultan Agung is directed by a renowned director named Hanung Bramantyo. The film showcases the life and struggles of the king of Mataram, Sultan Agung, previously known as Raden Mas
Rangsang, starting from a teenage boy before ascending the throne to his
fight against the Dutch East Indies Company (VOC).
The "History of Indonesia through the Perspective of Film" discussion panel will feature Marthino Lio (the actor playing the role of young Sultan Agung) and another surprise guest.
Registration
starts at 4 PM followed by the screening and discussion panel at 5 PM.
This event is supported by UCLA Center for Southeast Asian Studies
and Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.
