A story about separation by deportation, FIGHTING FOR FAMILY (2021, 30 mins) captures a family's story of love, challenges and resilience while also discussing the U.S. imperialist war machine and the intergenerational harm that it inflicts. 

Lan Nguyen is the daughter of Vietnamese refugees, with roots stemming from Long Beach, California and currently residing in San Jose, CA. She is an award-winning filmmaker, community organizer, and educator. She earned her Masters of Arts in Asian American Studies at UCLA and her Masters of Arts in Teaching at San Jose State University.
