Funding available to conduct research at Israeli universities

Doctoral students who have already completed a minimum of one year of their program are eligible to receive funding to conduct research at any Israeli higher education institution that awards doctorates.

Due Date: October 30th, 2018

Doctoral students can receive scholarships to conduct research for 3 months to one year at any Israeli university program that awards doctoral degrees.

Recipients who plan on conducting research in Israel for one year will receive a stipend of the equivalent of 80,000 shekels (around $20,000). Recipients who stay for less than a year will receive a pro-rated amount based on the length of their time at their location of research Israeli university

Programs that award doctoral degrees can be found at the following universities: 1) Ariel University 2) Bar Ilan University 3) Ben-Gurion University 4) University of Haifa 5) Hebrew University of Jerusalem 6) Technion - Israel Institute of Technology 7) Tel Aviv University 8) Weizmann Institute of Science.

Scholarship conditions:

  • Candidates must have completed one year of their doctoral program and be in the pre-dissertation phase of their program
  • Candidates can be from any department or discipline
  • Candidates cannot be Israeli citizens

Application instructions:

Applications must be submitted by a faculty member at the Israeli university at which the candidate wishes to conduct research and the faculty member must be the individual who will supervise the candidate's research.

This application must include: 1) Candidate CV 2) Candidate letter of motivation and description of the project 3) Letter of support from a researcher at the Israeli university at which the candidate would like to conduct research.
