We are delighted to announce a new three-part lecture series this fall on the "special relationship" between the United States and Israel, dating back decades. As the centerpiece of the series, distinguished professor and Wall Street Journal columnist Walter Russell Mead will deliver the annual Harry C. Sigman Distinguished Lecture in Israel Studies on "The Arc of a Covenant: The U.S., Israel and the Fate of the Jewish People."
Fall 2022 Lecture Series on the U.S.–Israel Relationship
In recent years, there has been growing criticism of U.S. policy toward Israel, and growing concern among Israel’s supporters about the partisan divide between Democrats and Republicans over support for Israel. Although the U.S.-Israel relationship remains strong, therefore, it is dynamic and its future is not guaranteed.
This timely lecture series will explore the past, present and future of the U.S.–Israel relationship. Our expert guides will be the authors of three new books: David Tal, author of The Making of an Alliance The Origins and Development of the US–Israel Relationship; Walter Russell Mead, author of The Arc of a Covenant: The United States, Israel, and the Fate of the Jewish People (Harry C. Sigman Distinguished Lecture in Israel Studies) and Eric Alterman, author of We Are Not One: A History of America’s Fight Over Israel.
