The scholarship on transnational students and their incorporation into Mexican schools is a recent line of research, examining the ruptures and transitions students and parents navigate when they cross borders and national educational systems. In this presentation, Dr. Betsabé González Román focuses on migrant parents and their experiences interacting with schools in the United States and Mexico as they integrate and disintegrate their children into/from different educational systems. The research findings outlined in this presentation are based on case studies which followed the migration journey of students and their families from the United States to the state of Morelos in south-central Mexico.
