At the upcoming Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies' 6th “Israel in 3D” conference, participants from Israel and the United States will explore connections between the countries beyond the political sphere.

UCLA Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for Israel Studies, April 23, 2019 - When most people think of U.S.-Israel relations, they think of the long-standing political ties between the two states.

At the Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies’ May 5th community outreach conference — “Israel in 3D: Israeli-American Encounters” — community members as well as students and faculty will hear new perspectives on the countries’ connections from three panels that explore the exchanges between Americans and Israelis in the areas of religion, business and technology and entertainment.

At the 2017 "Israel in 3D: Civil Society in Action" conference, Israel's leading financial journalist - Guy Rolnik -
spoke with another famed Israeli journalist - Tal Schneider.

The panels of prominent speakers from both countries will discuss these themes and explore the impact the United States has had on Israel in these fields — as well as the influence the country of eight million has had on the United States.

Leading entertainment figures, a member of Knesset (Israel’s parliament) and Los Angeles and California-based business leaders from Israel will participate. (See program here).

“We’re extremely excited to be organizing another ‘Israel in 3D’ that this time will give community members a fresh and more varied look at the myriad relations between the U.S. and Israel,” says Maura Resnick, Deputy Director of the Y&S Nazarian Center.

The May 5th “Israeli-American Exchanges” program will be the sixth conference in the “Israel in 3D” series. Started in 2012, programs have covered a diverse array of topics, ranging from inter-religious relations to the concept of “Start-Up Nation” to Israeli civil society and more.

The first “Israel in 3D” — held in 2012 — was organized as a way to offer members of the community an opportunity to learn more about Israel in an academic setting from leading Israeli experts in a wide array of fields. Its initial success and popularity led to the establishment of the conference series, which is now held biennially.

More information on the program, speakers and conference costs can be found on the Y&S Nazarian Center website.
