Biden's airstrike on Syria

March 10, 2021. Asked by Israeli daily Ha'aretz to comment on President Biden's recent airstrikes on Syria, Kal Raustiala responded, “[T]he issue becomes: Are you invited by the state involved? It's fine if you're invited to do that by the sovereign, or if you have a [UN] Security Council resolution, or you're engaged in self-defense.” Raustiala, director of the Burkle Center for International Relations and professor of law at UCLA, added, “A country like the United States typically wants to stop the attack, and make sure it never happens again, but some people are uncomfortable with that.”
