Library Assistance
Need help finding the right information sources for your research paper? Ask a research librarian!
The College Library is a great starting point for undergraduates, especially for Freshmen & Sophomores. College librarians are here to help undergraduates learn how to use library resources for research. Contact the College Library for more information on research help.
The UCLA Library also has many on-line resources that can make starting your research paper easier. From the UCLA Library web page, select a discipline under "Find Research Guides by Subject Area".
The Young Research Library (YRL) is a great resource for those looking to do more in-depth research, especially for Juniors & Seniors participating in independent research. A web site entitled Research Guides by Subject allows you to search for specific area studies such as Africa, Armenia, Asia, Dutch Studies, France, Germany, Latin America, Middle East / Northern Africa, Scandinavia, Slavic and East Europe and Southeast Asia as well as specific scholarly areas such as Public Policy and Social Research (Labor / Industrial Relations, Policy Studies, Social Welfare, Urban Planning), Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, etc.
Subject Specialists
In addition, bibliographers in the Young Research Library (YRL) who are subject specialists are available to assist you in identifying and using research materials in UCLA collections and off-campus locations. YRL Bibliographers are responsible for building and managing the research collections in the social science and humanities. They select and acquire books, journals, manuscripts, and other materials that are needed for research. Call, e-mail, or walk in for a consultation with someone who knows your subject area in the YRL!

Faculty Assistance
Would you like to find faculty members who have similar research interests as yourself?
Start by searching for faculty members who have aligned themselves with the International Institute. They are listed below by interdepartmental program (IDP):
Other faculty members across campus may also be a good resource. Feel free to investigate which professors are involved in research areas similar to your interests by searching the UCLA Faculty Research Interests Database and the UCLA Faculty Experts Directory. Or, if you have someone in mind, be sure to refer to the faculty member's own web page for their research interests and publication information.
Ready to Present Your Research?
Consider presenting your research at a conference or publishing your research in a journal.
At UCLA, there are conferences and publications such as Aleph are available to you that are awaiting your submission!
Outside of UCLA, there may be other opportunities to present your research, such as at a Southern California Conference for Undergraduate Research (SCCUR).
