If you’re curious to know more about our beginnings, UCLA Library is currently hosting an exhibit that celebrates the earliest history of international and ethnic studies centers at UCLA. Between 1957 and 1969, the university established eight research centers that served as an early example for similar centers, both at UCLA and universities across the country.
Featuring archival material from UCLA university archives and items from other UCLA special collections, the exhibit includes materials on the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies, the Chicano Studies Research Center, the Asian American Studies Center, the American Indian Studies Center, the Center for European and Russian Studies, the James S. Coleman African Studies Center, the Latin American Institute and the Center for Near Eastern Studies.
Stop by and visit before the exhibit closes on April 2nd!
