International Institute Virtual
Commencement Celebration!

Commencement is an occasion for you to be publicly recognized by the university and your friends & family for your scholastic achievement. And, until we can celebrate in person, the International Institute is planning to hold a virtual celebration to honor our graduating students.

The celebration website will include, among other things, congratulatory messages from Institute faculty and academic counselors, as well as the names of our graduating students by academic program (major, graduate program).  The celebration will include a message from our 2020 International Institute Commencement Speaker, Katya Daniel, Global Studies ‘08. More information about Katya and why she was selected as this year’s speaker can be found
here.

Students who are eligible to participate in the International Institute Commencement Celebration include recent degree candidates and degree recipients for the following undergraduate majors & graduate programs: African Studies, African & Middle Eastern Studies, Asian Studies, East Asian Studies, European Studies, Global Studies, International Development Studies, and Latin American Studies.

Eligible students have already been contacted about their participation and recognition on the virtual celebration website. If you have not yet been contacted about being recognized at the 2020 International Institute Commencement Celebration, but are seeking inclusion, please contact the Academic Counselor of your program without delay.

The celebration is scheduled to go live on Saturday, June 13 at 6:30pm*, and will be accessible through this website. Please join us then to celebrate our graduates!

*The celebration website will be available for viewing after this date, as well.
