
Michael C. Eicher is UCLA Vice Chancellor, External Affairs Executive Vice President, The UCLA Foundation
Michael Eicher was appointed Vice Chancellor in January 1999. In that capacity, he oversees a comprehensive, nationally recognized advancement program at UCLA. As the External Affairs Vice Chancellor, he has leadership and management responsibility for University Communications, Government & Community Relations, Alumni Relations, Finance & Information Management, Development, and the Office of Special Events & Protocol. He also serves as Executive Vice President of the The UCLA Foundation and is a member of the UCLA Campaign Cabinet and University Executive Committee.

Mr. Eicher came to UCLA Health Sciences Development in 1986 from the Torrance-South Bay YMCA where he had served as Associate Executive Director. From 1991-1995, he held the position of Vice Provost for Medical Sciences Development and Associate Director of University Development. In November 1995, he was appointed Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development and in April 1996, became Associate Vice Chancellor. He is a frequent presenter and participant in both national and international advancement conferences, and continues to volunteer his time to numerous community organizations.
Mr. Eicher holds a B.S. degree in Sociology from UC San Diego and completed the Executive Program for Academic Health Care Management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He lives in Rolling Hills Estates with his wife, Inez, and their two children
