Global Health Students in Peru

Global Health in Peru

Earn two Upper Division electives for your minor in Peru this summer! Courses and class excursions will focus on how diversities and disparities in people and places impact human health, using Peru as a case study. Possible excursions include visits to Pampas, Belen, indigenous communities, local health NGO’s, a Butterfly Farm, the zoo, and Museo Larco. Students will have time outside of the course to explore the surrounding towns of Lima.

East-West Medicine in Shanghai

Study in Shanghai in Summer 2020! Learn about and experience the Chinese healthcare delivery system through the process of creating an actionable self-care plan with integrative medical approaches. Activities include Tai Chi, herbal food and tea preparation, demonstration of Chinese medicine modalities and exchanging with local medicine and public health university students. Excursions will be to various museums, research labs, hospitals, clinics and community health centers.

Global Health Students Finalists for APRU Competition

A few of our Global Health minors entered the APRU Case Competition last Spring, which includes creating a 10 minute video on a given health case. The APRU Case Competition is highly competitive and teams of undergraduates and graduate students from around the world submit their work. This July, APRU announced the three top finalists - the Makara Team from the University of Indonesia, JAJA Team from the University of Hong Kong, and the Game Changers from UCLA!
