Petition for Chair Review
To see if a course that is not already approved for the International Migration Studies minor can apply towards a requirement, you must submit a Petition for Chair Review, linked below. Further instructions are on the petition form.
Along with your petition, please be sure to submit a copy of the syllabus for each course (which should hopefully show a strong linkage to migration issues).
Note that for courses to count towards the electives, they must be similar to those that are already approved, i.e., be related to the topic of international migration. You may wish to review the International Migration Studies Course Descriptions link to get a good sense of this. Approved courses must also be worth at least 4 quarter units, and post as upper division coursework to count towards requirements for the minor.
