Predoctoral Fellowships support for UCLA graduate students

Academic Year 2022-23 predoctoral fellowships are intended for graduate students conducting research on the Iranian diaspora. Research focus can include populations in the U.S., the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and/or a global perspective. 

Fellowship Amount:

The fellowship provides a $26,000 stipend, plus in-state tuition and fees.

Fellowship Requirements:

Graduate fellows will work with faculty on a number of initiatives including assisting in the organization of a conference on Iranian Diaspora Communities. Students will also conduct research that helps to expand the understanding of Iranian diaspora communities across the world and analyze key characteristics of migrant communities. Applicants may be from any discipline, including humanities and social sciences.

- A two-page description of the applicant’s primary research interest, area of specialization and career goals.
- Unofficial university transcripts
- Resume or CV
- Two academic letters of recommendation
