CAThis presentation explores the concept and practice of a just transition in the Korean automotive industry as the sector moves from traditional vehicles to electric vehicles (EVs). As climate change intensifies, reducing carbon emissions from industrial activities has become essential. However, the transition to a carbon-neutral society can significantly affect workers, companies, and other stakeholders, creating challenges that require cooperation and coordination. The concept of just transition emphasizes protecting affected stakeholders and ensuring their participation in the transition process. The Korean automotive industry provides an interesting case because its shift toward EVs is transforming long-established relationships among companies and workers.
