How to add images to an event

Please upgrade to a browser that supports HTML5 video or install Flash

Before uploading images to a Webtools event, let’s have look at the Image Sizing Chart with image specifications for the websites across the UCLA International Institute: //www.international.ucla.edu/size

  • A thumbnail image can be displayed on any webpage within your website, on the UCLA International Institute news page, and on any other website that requires a square image.
  • A medium image can displayed on any page on your website that doesn't use the square image, the front page of the UCLA International Institute, and the International Institute monthly newsletter.
  • A large image is displayed usually only on the display event page.
  • Extra large images are reserved for special purposes. You only need to use this if specifically instructed, for instance for a slider.

Regardless of the center or program, we encourage everyone to always upload a thumbnail, medium and large image.

Before uploading an image, it is important to make sure that the image is the right size. If you need assistance with determining the correct image sizes, please refer to the above link or click on the same link provided at the bottom of the Images & Documents section of the Add/Edit Event page.

Once you make sure of the size and resolution, here is how you upload them to a Webtools event: Click Choose File, select the image for that image size, and click Open and Upload. Do the same for images of other sizes. Alternatively, you can add an Image Caption that will be displayed with the large image.

Accepted file types:

  • Images: .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .gif

Do not forget to Save the event once you are done with the uploads.

Here is how these images are previewed on the UCLA International Institute site.

The Pull Quote feature that is under the Basic Information section of Add/Edit Event page enables you to highlight a quote on your event page in a larger, more stylized font.

You should simply copy and paste the quote you want to highlight, then click Save on top of the page.

Depending on the layout of your site, the quote box is placed in different areas of the page. Here is how it is viewed on the UCLA International Institute website.
